Welcome to Paulangelo, a charming café nestled on Hinterdorfstrasse in the serene village of Rüdlingen, Switzerland. This delightful spot is a true hidden gem for anyone with a passion for high-quality gelato and the inviting atmosphere that only a local café can provide.

At Paulangelo, the star of the menu is undoubtedly their gelato, which has garnered rave reviews from locals and visitors alike. Imagine indulging in a cup of smooth, rich pomegranate gelato, a flavor that many describe as a refreshing revelation. Or try the deeply satisfying chocolate, expertly crafted to balance creaminess with the perfect amount of sweetness. For those who appreciate nutty flavors, the pistachio gelato is worth a taste, even if some find it a tad on the rich side. The gelato here is not just a treat; it’s an experience, where every bite transports you to a world of sweetness and joy.

Customer reviews paint a vivid picture of the Paulangelo experience. One enthusiastic patron, Freddy Schubert, perfectly encapsulated the feeling of anticipation: “Be prepared to stand in line.” But, as he assures, it is well worth the wait, especially when the friendly staff – “the lady behind the counter” as he puts it – greets you with warmth and genuine kindness. Rick Nielson, another satisfied customer, boldly states, “I’ve tasted gelato in many countries but none match this gelato. None.” Such enthusiasm is a testament to Paulangelo's commitment to perfection.

The café's inviting ambiance complements its delectable offerings. Whether you're enjoying a quiet afternoon alone or catching up with friends, the friendly atmosphere encourages relaxation and conversation. The owner, as noted by Mahshid Khademi, brings an extra touch of charm to the experience, making every visit feel personal and welcome. Don’t miss the unique ice cream sandwich, where creamy furi di latte meets rich chocolate – a must-try that will leave you dreaming of your next visit.

Paulangelo isn't just about taste; it's an invitation to slow down and savor life's little pleasures. With fair prices that make splurging on gelato a guilt-free indulgence, this café captures the essence of Swiss hospitality. So take a stroll to Hinterdorfstrasse 24, grab your favorite flavor, and create sweet memories at Paulangelo – where amazing gelato awaits!

Be prepared to stand in line. We had ice cream (gelato) and it was awesome. We'll worth the queue and the lady behind the counter was extremely friendly and forthcoming. Loved it.

Great gelato! I tried pomegranate, chocolate and pistachio. And I enjoyed the three flavors. - pomegranate: first time I had it. Nice discovery - chocolate: smooth and creamy - pistachio: a bit too rich/fatty and sweet. Having said that, the place still deserves 5 ⭐ overall.

Probably the best ice cream I know, for sure in Switzerland, and likely beyond. Of course a question of taste ;) also a nice setting in a pretty village. Worth the little detour when passing by
